Assessments

Our assessments are performed by a skilled team of intern and senior Psychologists. We make use of a number of psychometric measures, and partner with several organisations and schools to make our assessments as accessible as possible.

Psycho-Educational Assessment

A Psycho-educational assessment provides insight into the overall functioning of children and adolescents. This provides valuable information regarding the types of support and intervention that will allow for optimal development and functioning. The following areas are addressed within a psycho-educational assessment:

Intellectual functioning

Visual motor integration

Scholastic functioning

Emotional functioning

School Readiness Assessment

JPCCC undertakes both individual and group school readiness screening. Group school readiness assessments take place on school grounds, and are available by request. The school readiness assessment provides information on:

Language ability

Verbal reasoning

Perceptual reasoning

Spatial awareness

Fine motor ability

Memory

Career and Subject Choice

Adolescents requiring additional assistance in planning and making decisions regarding their future careers may benefit from an assessment to determine their strengths, weaknesses, and interests.

Subject choice assessments are offered for learners in Grade 9

Career assessments are available for Grade 10, 11, and 12 learners
