The State of Hunger in South Africa

South Africa is considered a "food-secure" nation, producing enough food ot adequately feed its entire population. The reality is that despite some progress since the birth of democracy in 1994, more than 11 million people in South Africa, of which 3.2 million are children, don't have access to proper nutrition and go to bed hungry every night.

In a country fighting a legacy of poverty, where a child dies every 15 seconds due to a lack of essential nutrients and being underweight - it's clear that more needs to be done to take a stand against the rising pandemic.
